- Legal Documents: PDFs and other documents you upload to the platform

- Case Information: Jurisdiction (state/county), case role, case number (optional)
- Usage Data: Log files, IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent

2. How We Use Your Information

- Provide and improve our AI-powered legal assistance services
- Process and analyze uploaded documents using AI

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Providers
IMPORTANT: This service uses third-party artificial intelligence platforms to generate responses. When you interact with our AI assistant, your messages and relevant document excerpts may be transmitted to:
- OpenAI (GPT models): OpenAI Privacy Policy

What We Send: Your question/message, relevant excerpts from your uploaded documents, and conversation history for context.
What We Don't Send: Full documents, personally identifiable information (when possible), or data not relevant to your query.
AI Provider Policies: Each AI provider has its own data handling policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies linked above. We do not control how third-party AI providers process data.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes:
- Encryption: Data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (database encryption)
- Authentication: Secure password hashing (bcrypt), JWT tokens, Google OAuth 2.0
- Access Controls: Role-based permissions, admin approval workflow
- Cloud Storage: Documents stored in Google Cloud Storage with access controls
- Regular Updates: Security patches and dependency updates
However: No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:
- AI Service Providers: As described in Section 3, to generate responses
- Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform for hosting, storage, and databases
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or court order
- Service Protection: To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect rights and safety
- Your Consent: With your explicit permission for specific purposes
We do NOT: Share your data with marketing companies, advertisers, or data brokers.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data as follows:
- Account Data: Until you delete your account
- Documents: Until you delete them or delete your account
- Conversations: Until you delete them or delete your account
- Document Embeddings: Deleted when associated document is deleted
- Soft-Deleted Items: Permanently deleted after 30 days (or immediately upon request)
- Logs & Analytics: Typically retained for 90 days
